Sun

The first day
I felt changed
I felt removed and broken
Over man
Over God
But weak by the same token

Wherewithal
Has dissolved
A soulless apparition
Loss of choice
Lost my voice
Condemned and then conditioned

Pictures galore

The aforementioned wedding pictures are up. Including the promised incriminating pictures of me wearing a tie. I post them myself to prevent any future attempts at blackmail.

New grounds

Well then, let’s see. Upgrade done. Some stuff changed in the templates. Old Sanitize plugin removed, since it’s integrated into the MT core code now. Might still be a few sanitize tags left in a template, I’ll go over them more carefully later.

Writing this with Brad Choate’s MT-Textile input plugin. Nice stuff. No need to bother about tags, just write. Yes, I’m doing emphasis and bold just because I can.

I’ll probably have to go over the regular expressions I use, to see if there’s any redundant stuff there now.

Lost and found

Great. I leave home Wednesday morning, and come home Friday night. Lots of things happen when I’m away from my computer.

For starters, and the most important thing, Magnus and Cecilia got married today. I was there — at the party afterwards, at least. The actual marriage ceremony tock less than 30 minutes (no church stuff involved) and was attended only by the immediate relatives. Incriminating photos of me in a tie will be used in attempts to blackmail me. I wish them both the best of luck.

While out shopping for the aforementioned tie with Astrid, I bumped into Linda (Doh! It’s bad when you’re starting to forget the names of your old school friends), whom I went to school with. Haven’t seen her for nearly two years. Turned out that she moved to Stockholm about six months ago. I gave her my address, she said she’d keep in touch. That made me happy for the rest of the day.

Movable Type 2.6 is out. Go fetch. I’ll upgrade as soon as I’ve posted this. Also, Brad Choate fulfilled a LazyWeb wish of mine and created a Textile input plugin for the new version of MT. Go fetch.

Now there’s an idea…

Hold that thought. If I skip the iPod, I may be able to buy myself an iBook instead within two months. And that feels more interesting than an iPod. The iBook can play music too, although you can’t shove it into your pocket quite as easily.

I will get two paychecks more or less at the same time, since someone screwed up with my paycheck for December. On top of that, I’ll get a hefty amount of cash from CSN – yes, I’m optimistic about this and assume that I can talk CSN into a corner.

I desperately want an iBook. I’m quite willing to live really cheap for a few months for it, though I probably won’t have to unless I go on a random shopping spree. I can hold my money quite close to my chest if I want to.

I smell something Bushy

I’ve invented a new word. “Bushy”. It has sort of the same meaning as “fishy,” but is best put to use in matters political. Especially if they’re retarded and a thinly veiled excuse for more draconian laws and punishments in the name of fighting terrorism.

I certainly smell something Bushy.

Swedish blogosphere

Things are moving in the Swedish part of the blogosphere. It started with a post on Mymarkup about how nice it would be with a mailing list for Swedish bloggers, among other things. Said and done, I thought and set one up at YahooGroups. At the moment, it’s in Swedish only. The mailing list, that is, your blog can be any language you want.

Tinitus

Haujobb, Decoded Feedback, Beborn Beton and a bunch of other bands I’ve never heard of before (Synapscape, This Morn’ Omina, Empusae) will be playing at Tinitus at Universitetet in May. I’ll be there.

Empusae sounds interesting: “Mixing equally between Rhythm n’ Noise, dark ambient, suggestive horror film soundtracks and EBM, the music of Empusae forces itself into the listener’s mind and refuses to be forgotten. Empusae is the one-man project of belgian Nicolas Van Meirhaeghe who also appears as a live member in Ah Cama-Sotz and Implant to mention a few.”

Right. I’m off to hunt some MP3s of the bands I haven’t heard before.

(Later) Looks like there’s a pre-party as well. Dupont and Run Level Zero will be playing, as well as a bunch of DJs from Tech Noir and other places.

I hereby declare that Dupont sucks. This because their site won’t let me enter because they say I use “Netscape.” That’s Mr. Mozilla to you, punk!

I’ve lost my mojo!

In an attempt to rediscover my lost minimalist mojo, I dumped everything not strictly a blog entry on the page. The sidebar was getting way too cluttered.

The topmost field will contain a logo and a small menu later. I’ll gradually be adding things and generally poking with a stick until I’m satisfied.

Now, if only Internet Explorer, may its armpits be haunted by the fleas of a thousand camels, could understand that margin: 0px auto means “center the content, damnit!”

Civilized country

My friend Magnus is more or less finished with his own little CMS thingie. I’ll nag at him until he adds an RSS feed as well. And now, blockquoth Magnus:

I played an especially intense game of Civilization3 once. I was playing some European civilisation, don’t remember which. My nearest neighbour happened to be the Persian civilisation. We got along fine.

I’m good at this game, so my civilisation was soon completely superior to the Persians when it came to military and financial strength. They hade nothing I wanted, so I left them alone. This was all fine, until we came to the industrial era. Then a patch of oil turned up in the Persian territory, near the border to mine. I badly needed this oil to be able to keep my superiority over the Persians. I had none myself.

So I started making bogus claims, veiled threats and stuff toward the Persians, until they decided they’d had enough of me, and I got my just cause to start a war. A war in which I swiftly took control over the area with the oil patch, and severely crippled the Persians military and infrastructure so they wouldn’t bother me again. Considering the world today… well, I don’t have to say much more, do I?
