I’ve now tossed MT-RefSearch into the wild mess of templates and plugins I use for MovableType. To see it in action, you can Google for “metagarbage” and follow the first result of the search. Wickedly cool stuff.
MT-RefSearch has support for some 240+ search engines, but as we all know Google is God and Zeitgeist is its prophet. Thou shalt have no other search engines beside Google.

Well, they say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery… but could the two-bit hack at least change the colors and/or typography a bit instead of using my CSS as is?

To be honest, this layout is heavily inspired by Splorp — but I wrote all of it myself, damnit. It’s my own XHTML with my own style of indentation and markup. This guy simply lifted my CSS and basic HTML template straight off and pasted his own stuff into it.

Some random albums that I’ve listened a lot to for the last few weeks.
Of these, Innuendo is the only one I actually own. But at least Grendel is worth paying for, so I’ll keep an eye out for them in the music shops.
I really want to own pretty much everything by I, Parasite. Incredibly good, moody music. A bunch of samples as well as some complete songs can be downloaded from his site.
CSN, in their infinite wisdom, has decided that I will only be studying 75% part-time. I, on the other hand, am quite certain that I will study 400 points in 20 weeks, thus meeting the required 20 points per week to get the full amount of money from CSN. They, however, say that I will be studying for 21 weeks.
I called CSN, but they said that if what I said was true, they had recieved the wrong information from Academedia (where I will study), deftly shifting the blame. I called Academedia, and got a “please call later in the afternoon.” Well, that will have to be from work, then.
Ah well, I can survive on 75%. That’s 5076 SEK a month (1320 SEK subsided, 2487 SEK as a loan), just slightly less than I got when unemployed. But full-time would be better.
I’m sitting here laughing my posterior off. I knew that Turkey likes to rip off various movies from other countries, but this takes the price…
By now, you’ve hopefully heard of Turkey’s proud history of stealing American films and remaking them with no money and their own unique set of production values. When they remade Superman, Superman became a homemade doll dangling on string in front of a black and white TV, and when they remade Star Wars, Luke Skywalker fought an army of Cookie Monsters on a field of trampolines. And even if you do speak Turkish, their remakes of films are confusing madness, but invariably end up being twice as entertaining as the original.

The Turkish Enterprise’s dress code has got to cause problems. The female personnel are forced to wear miniskirts that end four inches above the bottom of their asses, and when they turn around to work on the spray-painted cardboard computers, they have no secrets. I’m sure this leads to situations where the navigator loses his concentration and says, “Miss Uhura, we are crotching a course for the panties sector, coordinates your whole ass hanging out. Repeat: panties, panties, panties.”

OK. At work. Started an hour and a half ago. I’m done with the registration. Now I don’t have a clue about what to do.
This is my first day on the evening shift. I was told to register whatever there was to register, and then work the at the BPS-1000. Well, registration done. Someone’s already at the 1000. Does that mean that I get to slack off for a while? Can’t exactly say there’s much to do here after 16.00…

Excuse my lack of optimism, but that sounds strangely similar to “I get kicked in the balls less than 10 times a day!”
I hate spam. Thankfully I don’t get any to this domain — so far. I’m well prepared for a sneak attack, though. All incoming mail is passed through SpamProbe, a spam filter that uses Bayesian frequency analysis to score the letter. Basically, there are words that spammers use more frequently (VIAGRA! PORN! FREE! CREDIT! PENIS ENLARGEMENT!). You could block these individual words, but SpamProbe gives each word a probability for indicating spam. These words are then compared to words that have a low probability of appearing in spam, and a final score is calculated. This prevents letters that contain just a few spammy words to be marked as spam.

A Bayesian filter isn’t effective unless it has some mail to train on, to know what words and phrases it should consider spam and what to let through.
Just for fun and giggles, I’m downloading all my Hotmail spam and sending it through SpamProbe to train it. It misses a few every now and then, but I just flag them as spam manually, and then I never see them again.
